Thank you  I am quite proud of those leaves, they look nice and shiny, and this one was done on Canson Mi-teintes coloured paper, ochre I think, which was quite useless because I ended up completely covering it :D This paper wasn't that bad actually, I think it depends on the colour, because the pink paper I used for the tortoise cat was also Canson mi-teintes, the same thickness  I like the ochre coloured paper, I used it quite a lot, I don't know why sometimes a drawing looks really smooth and other times you see the paper through the pencil.

Yeah I've got another artist friend that uses this paper and he really likes it too... As a matter of fact he's had a couple of his works featured in colored pencil magazines! :D [link] You can see his work here :D

I know him ! Well I mean I recognize him he's commented on a few of my drawings (it's the hat :D)
Maybe I'm just being too fussy I just really like my drawings to be smooth, sometimes I put on 6,7 layers just to make the paper disappear, I'm a bit obsessed :D I'm definitely going to retry this paper again, but with a tiny drawing just to be safe.

Yes I obsess ove trying to get my artwork as smooth as possible... I've been able to get it done better this last year or so and it's due to things I've learned by looking at others works and from reading everything I can about my chosen medium.

You know one thing I've noticed about doing my art shows is that when i've got my piece framed behind glass and I sit with it out in the sun all day it becomes smoother! I guess it's due to the heat but even a piece I've sprayed and framed will turn out looking much cleaner when it's sat outside all day! I got too much sun yesterday but I managed to sell some work and make a little money which I really needed :D

Really ? Could it be the wax in the pencil heating up and melting a bit ?

Well I'm out of luck, it's like 9 degrees (Celsius :D) here and raining, and it has been like that for almost a month :-( If it ever gets warmer I'm going to put my tortoise cat in the sun
At least I won't get sunburned (I wish....)

Do you have it framed? I suspect that having the artwork behind glass has something to do with this too.

Nope no sunburned kitty for you ;p

I'll frame it just for the occasion (if the sun is ever going to show here, otherwise I'll have to take in on my holiday to Italy this summer :lmao:)
